Laila Alieh

Laila Alieh is a former NASA engineer turned Math Coach and Mentor, podcaster, and mother. She studied engineering in college and graduated with a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Portland State University. Laila now helps students from grade 3 to college excel in their math skills and reach their full potential. When she sees their eyes light up, she knows her mission for the day is complete. It's time to fall back in love with math and launch forward!

  • Laila will take notes and pay attention to the performance of the student throughout the session.
  • After the session is done, Laila will speak with the parents and/or student about what she observed on the student's performance. She will share the strengths and weaknesses of the student and give an honest assessment on what level the child is at, where the gaps are, and the areas that need improvement.
  • As soon as Laila shares her observations, she will provide a game plan on how to move forward so the the student can succeed. This is the highlight of the session - a solution. Parents want to know how their child can excel in a subject and what the necessary steps are to get there.
